ONLINE 5-week Short Course: Writing About Covid-19 series: The Homeschooling Parents
With Thomas Glave
Wednesdays, 7-9pm, starting 13 October, then 20 & 27 October, and 3 & 10 November 2021
Online, via Zoom
You had to stay home for weeks, for months, with children. There was no time to write. There was barely time to think. Every minute of the day was filled with demands. It seemed like Covid would never end. How to write with all this going on? How to tell the real truth about what it was like? How to write about how it feels now, and how it felt then?
These are the stories that only you can tell. You know them better than anyone else. They begin with you feeling them, thinking about them, and then working with others in our safe-space course to write them. This course will allow you to discuss issues that are important to you, and to free your imagination to develop your unique voice that you ‘ll be able to express through your writing.
Together, in a group of no more than 14, for 2 hours a week over 5 weeks, we’ll work on your telling these stories. We’ll work together to help your memories take shape on the page. We will also listen to each other’s stories and read ours aloud. Writing exercises will also be provided to help you begin to write.
The course is intended for all writers, including beginners.
